Brittany graduated from Forbush High School and was one of the original members of Tri-State Youth Rodeo Association. Her love of rodeo and horses was evident to all those who watched her compete.
She is the daughter of W.J. Casstevens and Regina Casstevens, and sister to Allison Casstevens Blevins all of Yadkinville.
This scholarship will be used to show Tri States love, support and encouragement to its members. It will be awarded to a junior, senior or current high school graduate planning to further their education, technical, vocational, two- to four-year college. This scholarship will be awarded primarily based on need.
On Feb. 20 the Tri-State Youth Rodeo Association awarded Taylor Jones of Burlington, Jennifer Morgan, Greensboro and and Austin Jarvis, King, with the Brittany Casstevens Memorial College Scholarship.
Each received $2,000 to attend a college of their choice.
W.J. Casstevens and Allison Casstevens Blevins presented these scholarships.
The funds for the scholarship are by donations. Tri-State Youth Rodeo Association will give this scholarship out every year in Brittany’s honor on July 24 at 7 p.m. at the Circle G Arena, in Harmony. The Tri-State Youth Rodeo Association will be having a Brittany Casstevens Memorial Rodeo. All proceeds will go to the scholarship.
