Signs of spring: Youth sports sign-ups underway

Jonesville summer sports registration

Registration for Jonesville summer baseball, softball and T-Ball will be held four times in January.

The program is for boys and girls ages 4-12. Sign-ups will take place in the Jonesville gym lobby from 10 a.m. until noon on Saturday, Jan. 9 and Saturday, Jan. 16. Sign-ups also will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 12 from 6-8 p.m. and Friday, Jan. 22 from 6-8 p.m.

First-year players need to bring a birth certificate with them to registration. Rosters will be finalized Jan. 31. No registration will be taken after Jan. 24.


Sign-ups for softball in Yadkin

The East Yadkin Girls Softball Association is having open sign-up for Spring Rec Softball until Jan. 31.

Any player interested in playing at her respective school should call the appropriate number below and ask about sign-up dates and locations:

• Boonville Elementary: 367-7021

• Forbush Elementary: 699-8447

• Courtney Elementary: 463-5510

• Jonesville Elementary: 835-3201

• East Bend Elementary:699-3989

• Fall Creek Elementary: 699-8257

• West Yadkin Elementary: 468-2526

• Yadkinville Elementary: 679-8921

Forms are also available at each school or players may send an email to eastyadkinsoftball@hotmail.com for more information and details.

This is a fun sport for the kids, but it is also instructional and organized softball offered to your player at a reasonable cost.

Practice begins March 1. Games start around April 1 and run through first week of June.  


Boonville recreation baseball sign-ups

Sign-ups for Boonville Recreation Baseball will be held three more times in January.

The program is for ages 4-12. Sign-ups will take place in the gym lobby at Boonville School from 2-4 p.m. on these days: Jan. 10. Jan. 17 and Jan. 24.

No late sign-ups will be considered. No phone calls please. Sign-ups must be done in person. The director is Steve Brooks.


Yadkin County Baseball looking for players, feedback

Sign-ups for Yadkin County Baseball will take place during January through the schools.

Prospective players are encouraged to talk with your school's baseball director for more information on registration and the 2010 season.

Yadkin County Baseball also has a new Web site: www.eteamz.com/yadkincountybaseball.

"We are trying to get a lot of information posted on this site to help with the questions you may have about Yadkin County Baseball, and what all is happening in the county concerning baseball," president Keith Pack said. "I would like to get some feedback from the communities in the county on what you would like to see changed or your opinion on what would make Yadkin County Baseball better. It is the goal of the officers of Yadkin County Baseball to make this a fun and learning league for everyone involved."
