Lillian Ann Pinnix Martin, 74, formerly of 21 Childress St. in Winston-Salem, died Monday, April 6, 2009, at The Oaks of Forsyth.
She was born June 24, 1934, in Forsyth County, and was the daughter of the late William Sherman and Lillian Taylor Pinnix.
She retired from Winston-Salem Forsyth County Schools after more than 30 years of service as a bus driver.
She was a member of Woodland Baptist Church, where she was involved with the Royal Servants Sunday school class.
She was formerly a member at Marshall Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death in 1995 by her husband, Sam Martin; and six brothers and sisters.
Ann is survived by her daughter, Joyce Martin of Clemmons; a son, Sam Martin (Lisa) of Pfafftown; two grandchildren, Samantha and Taylor Martin of Pfafftown; two sisters, Juanita Pinnix of Hamptonville, and Debbie Joyner (Danny) of King; and a brother, Joe Pinnix (Judy) of Winston-Salem.
A funeral service, celebrating Ann’s life, will be held at 11 a.m. today, April 9 at Vogler and Sons Reynolda Chapel, with the Rev. Tim Gammons officiating.
Burial will follow at Marshall Baptist Church Cemetery.
