NC State freshman Kelly Wood, a 2008 graduate of Forbush High, was named to the All-ACC Academic Volleyball team.

To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during her academic career.

Wood, in her first year with the Pack, hails from Yadkinville. She was the team's top libero for the vast majority of the year, leading the squad in digs with 486.

She attended tryouts for the U.S. National Team in Colorado Springs, Colo. on Feb. 20-22.


Rams’ softball camp is Saturday

The annual Starmount Softball Camp will be held this Saturday, March 7 at the high school softball complex.

The cost is $25. The session for youth players will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. (lunch provided). For more information, contact Starmount softball coach Heather Courts at 468-2891, ext. 242.
